After an idyllic coastal childhood in Moruya, Dan moved to Canberra in 2009 to study music and education. In 2011, life was irrevocably changed when Dan found the local barbershop harmony chorus. Hooked on harmony, Dan has been filling life with music ever since. He finished his Bachelor of Education – Secondary Teaching (Music) in 2013 and has been teaching guitar and piano since 2010.
Dan now conducts that barbershop chorus – the Canberra Chordsmen – as well as the Strange Weather Gospel Choir and Mixtape Chorus, Canberra’s own indie pop choir. Dan loves sharing his love of music through his music tutoring business (piano, guitar and voice) working with choirs, and singing in a cappella quartets. When not reading Terry Pratchett books, Dan loves to arrange music, compose, record, jam with friends and sing barbershop tags at the National Folk Festival every Easter.
